Welcome

Main LodgeIf you are looking for fun and adventure in a mountain setting, then Harris Land and Cattle Company has what you’re looking for. Mountain adventures with the amenities of home. We provide lodging and meals and a vast array of services and activities are available for our guests. Float trips, museums, trail rides, and outdoor activities are just a few of the things we can arrange for you to do while you stay with us. We also offer shuttle services for our guests.

Nestled in the Highwood Mountains, about 30 miles East of Great Falls, Montana and south of the town of Highwood, Harris Land and Cattle Company sits on approximately 10,000 acres of land. Highwood creek runs through it and offers excellent fishing for brook and rainbow trout with an occasional brown tossed in for fun. Spring and early summer brings on the mountain's wild flowers. Mule and White Tail deer are abundant as well as Antelope and Elk. Occasionally, Mountain Goats and Black Bear may be found roaming the ranch.

Old homestead buildingsSome of the old homestead buildings are still around and gives one some idea of what life was like in the early days in the area. Our accommodations are a great deal more modern and offer our guests all of the comforts of home with a mountain view.

In 1998 Harris Land and Cattle Company entered into a Conservation Easement Agreement with the Montana Department of Fish Wildlife and Parks. This conservation easement insures that the natural beauty and wildlife habit will not be spoiled by rural subdivision and development. Through her testimony before the state legislature, Marge Gray helped insure the future of this program which was due to end and will help prevent uncontrolled rural sub-development.
